About

I am currently a Vistage Chair with Vistage Worldwide, Inc., the premier, invitation only, peer-to-peer executive advisory, coaching, and leadership growth organization in the world. Vistage has been in business since 1957 and has over 21,000 members in 16 countries. As a Chair, I am responsible for forming and leading a new group of approximately 16 CEOs and business owners as members in the Los Angeles area.

I became a Vistage Chair, because in my entire career, spanning the last 40 years, I have never seen or heard of any organization or program that can match the quality of the Vistage experience. This position allows me to make a profound difference in the lives of leaders, who in turn will make even greater differences in the organizations they lead and in the lives and fortunes of the thousands of people they touch.

Throughout my career, I have served as a CEO, COO, CFO and Managing Partner in publicly held and privately owned companies, and non-profit organizations. My functional areas of responsibility have included: leadership, general management; marketing; sales; manufacturing; distribution; and franchising.

As the Managing Partner of William Leider & Associates, my consulting work has encompassed: strategic planning; cultural change; values-driven leadership; turnarounds of troubled companies; and a bit of executive coaching. My innovative approach to executable strategic planning has consistently improved team effectiveness and the profits of the organizations for which I’ve worked. Along the way, I have also developed a holistic approach to assessing and strengthening an organization’s Brand. That, in turn, led to me writing my book entitled, “Brand Delusions,” published in 2013. The book was critically acclaimed but under-discovered (you can help rectify that if you wish to).

Some of my larger clients have included: Toshiba; Oracle; Thermador; Vertis; KPMG Peat Marwick; Deloitte; Paramount Pictures; and MGM. I have also consulted for many, many mid-size and smaller companies.

I currently lecture on values-driven leadership in the Sol Price School Of Public Policy at the University of Southern California (USC).

I received my BS degree in business from UCLA.

I have also served on the Board of the Los Angeles chapter of the Entrepreneurship Institute; taught the business-planning course in the Fast Trac program at USC., and served as a strategic consultant to the National Veterans Foundation.

I am married to Arlene (aka Wonder Woman); and parent to Pippa (our Springer/Doodle). For sanity and fitness I work out at the gym and play tennis.
